TimQuestion: Can you give us a brief history of your diet/lifestyle before starting with this program?
Tim: I was working a stressful job with long hours and I used that as an excuse for not doing any exercise or eating correctly. I had little knowledge of diet then and it usually consisted of take away fast food as I refused to cook for myself because it was just easier this way. Due to my long hours and late nights this caused me to eat at very strange hours, such as a whole pizza or nachos at 11pm...
Question: Can you describe your lifestyle/diet now?
Tim: My lifestyle is much healthier, I go to bed at a good time every night and get a good night sleep, and I also walk my dog every afternoon when I get home. My diet now consists of lower carb, higher protein and always looking for the most minimal processed food while now cooking for myself.
Question: Can you give us a brief history of your physical activity before following Donna Aston's principles?
Tim: When I was a child I was quite overweight and I lost this when I was about 16-17 years old, but I did it incorrectly due to simply not knowing how to do it right, I basically starved myself and only ate a small lunch and dinner, I coupled this with some incorrect exercise routines and while I lost fat I certainly wasn't healthy. I of course treated this as a temporary fix until I was somewhat happy with how I looked, I stayed somewhat slim for an amount of time but it eventually caught up on me and over time and I got lazier and my diet was poor. I never really attempted to eat anything fresh and didn't really like eating vegetables, so I didn't eat them.
Question: Can you describe your training/physical activity/dietary changes now?
Tim: I get up every morning before work and go to the gym plus I also have weekly personal training with Amber and a TRX class both at Aston Fitness. I also walk my dog to the park every afternoon when I get home. Other than that I like going for a run either around home to princess park, or a trail run at my mum's house in the country. I also enjoy rock climbing and playing squash every now and again. My dietary changes are now dramatically different. I attempt to eat fresh healthy foods and also cooking for myself every evening and eating healthy meals and snacks each day.
Question: Do you have any comments you'd like to make that may inspire others?
Tim: Just get out there and do it, you would be surprised how easy it is to be healthy, and it's also pretty addictive good fun.
